Get Visual Studio Standard edition for free

Posted on Saturday 4 March 2006

Microsoft must be getting desperate… They are now offering Visual Studio Standard Edition for free if you attend 3 of their webcasts. The three tracks have interesting enough titles: “ASP.NET 2.0 for JSP Developers”, “ASP.NET 2.0 for PHP Developers” and “ASP.NET 2.0 for ColdFusion Developers”. Gee, I wonder if they’re not trying to lure other language developers to ASP.NET ;) My feeling is that they are wasting their time with PHP and ColdFusion developers, but Java heads may hear the song of the siren in C# (which I must say I’ve enjoyed using for developing traditional apps, but find overkill for web apps). One more box on the shelf…
