Flash command: unblur aliased text

Posted on Monday 30 October 2006

Here is a new command for Flash 8 which unblurs aliased text. If you’ve used a pixel font inside a deeply nested movieclip and have gotten blurry text, you know how much of a pain it can be to go through the hierarchy of movieclips and place the center on whole pixels. This extension does it automatically for you. Select text and run the command and it will place it on whole pixels, move to the parent and place it on whole pixels, then to its parent and so on until it reaches the root timeline. In order for this to work you must have reached the textfield by clicking through the hierarchy of movieclips (otherwise it won’t be able to figure out the parent).

Download it here (1.0.0).
